How Do I Get Rid of Predators?

If you killed their Dog and not permitted to shoot firearms you will get charged...Around here people shoot with air guns..Paintball guns...I have a Fox problem and we use firearms, although never tell anyone...
we have coyotes (where i live) good thing there always open season here in SK though. can't wait to get my fire arms license so i can deal with them.

Ah, okay! I reviewed the laws, and it says that we are able to kill the dog on our property, as long as we can say that it killed livestock. However, it does also say if the owner of the livestock doesn't kill the dog, the owner of the dog will have to put the dog down since it is known for killing livestock.

Wanted to respond to this for those who like details... it is this way where I live as well. I did get to see this law in action. A neighbor bought a horse as a gift for her husband. She went into town to run some errands. In the meantime, the guy next to her had been leaving his dog all alone on his property and running loose. This dog, bored out of his mind, chased her new horse through the fence. As the horse leapt over the fence he disemboweled himself on the fence post. The dog continued to chase and the horse, absolutely panicked, was running as fast as possible but bleeding out fast. Finally the horse dropped dead (ironically, about a hundred yards up from the dog owner's house) and the dog went back to his house. The owner of the dog showed up shortly after.

Well, the brand inspector came and we showed him the tracks, where the horse had dug in his feet to run, where he jumped, where he cut himself etc. all the way to where his dead body was. The brand inspector gave the guy a ticket, he had to go to court, but before he went to court he had to take the dog to a vet and have it humanely euthanized. He had to provide a certificate from the vet that the dog had been put down. (You're not allowed to just say, "oh, I shot the dog myself" or whatever, it has to be done by a vet in a humane fashion.) The judge was livid that this guy had left a dog all alone for 4 days, running loose, because the judge is a dog lover. So he fined the crap out of the guy, plus the guy had to pay for the dead horse, not to mention bury it since it was so close to his house.

I tell people: don't let your dog run loose. :( It does not work out very good for the dog, and that's not fair. The dog deserves better than that. If this guy had been a responsible owner that poor dog would still be alive.
