How Do I Get Rid of Predators?

If you killed their Dog and not permitted to shoot firearms you will get charged...Around here people shoot with air guns..Paintball guns...I have a Fox problem and we use firearms, although never tell anyone...
@ChIck3n Do you know what the laws are at your place for future reference? If not, probably a good idea to find out. :)

Here, we have the right to defend our livestock ON our property by any means needed.

I have seen one location where they were actually able to pursue the predator off their property, but suspect that to be less common. And PROBABLY not something I would be comfortable doing.

Ah, okay! I reviewed the laws, and it says that we are able to kill the dog on our property, as long as we can say that it killed livestock. However, it does also say if the owner of the livestock doesn't kill the dog, the owner of the dog will have to put the dog down since it is known for killing livestock.

Each place will have their own laws....Canada has rules too that are province to province with different by-laws..
Best of luck...

So do you have to wait for a bird to be actually dead? Or them running a muck trying to kill them.

What if you get them just before they killed your chicken I wonder?

Interesting that the owner would have to put down the animal. Is that true even if you just witnessed the dog kill your bird and you didn't get a shot off?

Sorry, I'm a little detail oriented!

Thanks for sharing, it helps my mind to consider how to act if I'm faced with the situation. :highfive:
