How do I get the best?

Hi I was wondering how I can get the best an most eggs out of my chickens? I have 8 hens that are laying and usally get 2 or 3 eggs a day. I Have been giveing Oyster Shells. Not what i want to get.

Feed a balanced laying ration in addition. How old are your hens?

Okay. I don't know how to tell there age.

If you have a picture you could post, that might help. Another thing that will affect egg-laying is the hens' breed. Some breeds lay more than others.
