How do I keep a rooster without making my neighbors mad?

Thanks everyone I am hoping everyone in my neighborhood is just a heavy sleeper I guess and that the rooster is quite.

the peafowl noise freaks me out it sounds like someone crying for help! I love roosters crowing and I have gotten to a point where I get really nervous when my hens let out the hawk call it sets all 11 of them going and they run inside the tractor and hide.

Roosters need to stretch their necks out to crow... if you can put your rooster in a low crate or box (with ventilation) at night, you shouldn't hear any crowing.

That was my job when I was younger... in the box every night, and let him out every morning.

HMMM I feel Like that might be cruel I am not sure will have to think about it. Maybe I can get one and if he start to crow I will put him in a smaller crate but this would be a last resort probably.

they spend the night in a heavily insulted shed thats probably about 400 feet from the house so you can't even heard them.

I have silkies and the rule here is you can crow to your hearts content in the house,
but once outdoors you stop.... I have got my1 roo 95 % train the second is 99% trained.

I have had people say you cant train a roo but for a silky you can!! --Blue is out ist at 8:00
am and all I say is dont crow or ill bring your but back in.....
Scooter goes out between 9:00-10:00 am any earlier and he cant controll himself. Occasionally Scooter will crow wait for me to come out and run after him. He likes a game of chase me. I catch him,he puts his head on my shoulder and we go in. Many times he has come to the back door - pecked on the glass- waits for me to let him in and the second the door closes he starts crowing. He gets it out of his system and then waits for me to let him out. He is quiet for the rest of the day. I occasionally get a female who will cackle for me till I come out and join the flock. I have never had neighbors gripe in the 8 yrs I have been here.

I don't mind a few crows through the day ! but constant noise would bug me really bad! I hope I get a nice calm rooster if I can get one

our shed does not have insulation but I was thinking about building a box that would have noise insulation. How can you keep it cool in the summer though ?

Insulation does keep temperature moderated. If you need more a fan would help a lot.
