How do I rid my coop of mites?

Thanks for this advise Suzie! Its been awhile since I responded but I wanted to let you know tat vaseline was by far the most successful manner to solve the leg mites. The commercial leg protector helped but within days of using the vaseline, my chickens legs were looking great! The scales sloughed off on their own and the chickens were definately happier girls. I think the vaseline was soothing to them as they didn't even mind very much when I applied it. (Girls always enjoy a spa day! All is well!
