How do I send a letter.

doubt - google searched it.

As for the letter. I used google image search and typed in Letter

Here is a so so example. You need to put a 41 cent stamp on the top right hand side of the envelope and be sure it weighs less than an ounce I think.

Then for instuctions I used google and typed in How to mail a letter and got this:

Hopefully it helps. Google is wonderful.

Edit: Yeah, price to send mail is now 41 cents and depending on your area you might not want to put your red flag up. Where I live you don't put it up ever and the mail people check all the boxes because of mail theft. Your area may be different. Just look down the street and see if people do or not.

How about asking at a...Post Office? All the information one could ever need about sending letters, weights, delivery speed, etc.

@Arborist:

It's exactly the reason I keep a dictionary right next to my keyboard. It's come in handy quite a few times.

Why do you need a dictionary next to the keyboard if you can just go to google and type in the approximate spelling and the right one comes up?

Actually, if you download mozilla firefox as your browser, there is an automatic spell check plugin that will underline all the words you spell wrong when using the internet, and if you right click, will offer suggested spellings.

So I put stamps in the right corner and the persons name and address on the right side and then my name and adress in the left corner Am I correct now?

Put the other guys' address kind of in the middle of the envelope, but down a little closer to the bottom and a little bit more to the right. You are correct, your address in the top left, stamp in the top right.

Don't mind us -- we're just old. We are from the days when everybody mailed everything because computers weren't invented yet

so we forget that people growing up now can get by for a long time without mailing a thing!

Make sure you have all this down though before you have to mail out grad invitations or wedding invitations or something fancy like that, because people get really picky about those!
