How do I tell my husband???

Tell him you want to adopt a child and when he's done shooting you down on that option yell "Fine!! Then I am getting 4 Silkie bantam chickens from the feedstore then!!" and walk away.....

I've decided that I'm going to tell him that I fed the one chick after midnight and spilled water on it. Then I'll explain that they're like Gremlins.

This is such a funny subject! And here I thought I was wack-o for wondering the same thing! LOL I just didn't say a thing about it, & he never even noticed...I have some 6 weeks old that are out of the brooder, but then had bought some chicks varying from 1 day to 3 weeks (he knew about those)....... but then, since we had a tiny baby, I figured he'd never notice the tiny Buff Brahmas & 2 more white Silkies...oh, & 2 more EE's...Yeah. I love that- words to live by - DON'T COUNT, DON'T TELL!!! HeeHee!!! Plus, the Silkies are straight run, so you HAD to get several so you'd have a better shot @ getting a broody girl! I got your back!

Just pretend there's nothing there... like you can't see them. Freak him out a little bit and he'll accept it easier because his mind will be diverted.

Here is my story-funny we all have the same problem.
I went to Farm and Fleet yesterday. I got a new heat lamp and bulb. Well they got chicks in from Cackle.. I knew they were going to. I drive home. So my husband is looking at the bags in my hand as I am pulling out my buys. I also stopped at the pet shop for meal worms too. He seemed to be relieved. I looked at him and said "what"? He says I was afraid you were going to pull more chicks out of the bag.

He knows me so well. Ummm.. well I had left them in the garage with every intention of adding them when he wasn't looking. Guilty! "No, they aren't in the bags.. they are in the garage." I walked out and brought them in. No better feeling than coming clean. He was fine with them.

Today he says, "just give me the specs on the coop size so I can get going on it!"

Nearly the same thing happened to me! We had recently purchased two that were a few days old and then we had two that were 2-3 weeks old and then I went to the feed store for more feed and....well YOU KNOW...the peeping. I ended up bringing home two more...but they were SO CUTE! Two little black australops! Hubby just looked at me and said in a teasing voice "That's it...you are forbidden from going to the feed store til the chicks are gone"...LOL! But in all honesty he'd probably get more too if we had the room. So, yeah, guess what we're doing in the rain today? Yep...new coop under construction as we "speak".
