How do I train my chickens to go in the coop at night?

I'm having to put them in

Just keep putting them in. They'll learn eventually. Mine go in at sunset.

Agreed that is how you train them. Keep putting them at dusk they will get the idea soon.

It's darker in the coop than it is outside by the picture. They're drawn to light so if you put a small light in the coop, they'll gravitate to it when it starts getting dark outside and go into the coop. Turn the light off when you lock them up. Do that a few days and they'll get the idea and begin to go in on their own.

So glad that worked for you! I had the same problem 3 years ago when I got my first birds. Someone on BYC told me to put in a light and it worked like a charm.
