I bought a tractor coop that came w/ several feeders and waterers. They are only 1 year old, however nasty because they were left outside in the elements for 8 months not being used. I cleaned & disinfected the plastic ones, but don't know how to clean the galvanized feeder. Can I get it all wet and scrub it down or will it rust in the joints? What products can I use to clean and disinfect it since my Oxine has not arrived yet? I'm not sure if certain cleaners will react w/ the metal like acv does (probably would be okay since I will be rinsing right away).

Scrub them like you would a plastic feeder/waterer. Most cleaning soaps have little effect on them. The time they are exposed to any cleaners that would eat the metal is limited so the effects on the metal is limited. If you are concerned about any harmful by products hanging around, scrub while rinsing. A chlorine bleach works well as a disinfectant.

Thank you
