How do you cull unwanted chicks ?

I really struggle with this dilemma. People simply don't want roosters and here in NZ a lot get dumped at parks etc. I had six roosters causing havoc and simply had to do get rid of them. I hate killing anything (I even rescue drowning worms), but if it has to be done it has to be quick and painless. I did this. Put 3 roosters in a bag, tied it to the car exhaust and started the car. They went to sleep permanently within about 10 seconds. If anyone has a better way, let me know. I can't do the axe thing.

I have not yet had to cull any chicks but....I was wandering the best and humane way of doing it. I am incubating every month so I am preparing for the ine..via#dible or however you say that word. I was thinking maybe just throw in a trash bag and leave em, or giving them to the dogs, throwing them in the pond.... I dont know what do you do with the curled feet, spayed legs, chicks or the  to many unwanted roosters?  /img/smilies/hu.gif

No offense but you never throw a live animal in a trash bag and just leave it or give it to your dog or throw it in a pond that's insane those are the worst culling methods I've ever heard of most of the time you can sell or give away unwanted chicks on Craigslist and if you have to cull chopping block with a sharp small tomahawk axe will be quick and painless those other methods you listed do not do

Sometimes the kindness act is putting something down unwanted I'm lucky I have a lot of land I can raise roosters to a about a year then eat them this is a crappy subject good luck to all I'm going to a happier forum lol
