How Do You Deal with Stress?

It depends on time and place, but typically if I am really stressed I go back to bed and try starting the day all over after a nice nap.
 
Much depends on what is causing the stress as to how best to get rid of it I think. Chainsaws and sledge hammers work amazingly well for those things that momentarily annoy you. You can fill in your own list on the things that go bump during the course of the day. I also mean to cut wood and build a fence rather than use heavy machinery on the source of the problems, that route leads to more stress in terms of being locked up.

The stress that occurs kind of on its own agenda; i.e. job worries, relationships, money, lack of rock and roll and other perceived necessities are deeper and don't go away with sweat. I pray and remember that Jesus said, "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow,for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Mt 6:34 NIV.. Does prayer to Christ work, absolutely. The best way after that is to focus on the needs of others and I don't mean my kid needs a job or my wife needs to make me happy, although that does kind of stress me a bit.

i have chairs all over the farm so ill grab a beer and sit down and just watch the chickens or the ducks or the horses. i fing that works some times it takes more then one geer lol.
 
Really badly. In fact, I'm reading these posts just to try to find some ways to cope with it. I get keyed up and can't sleep and get sick to my stomach.

And, I have a high stress job and go to school at night, so I'm a mess most of the time!

Edited to Add: I just remembered, I go for a run now that I've started jogging. I make sure to go every Friday evening after work because it helps me shake off the workweek and start the weekend fresh. So I guess I do have one coping strategy!

I have depression and get worked up about things like people coming to visit, I take an extra anti depressant. Because it works so well for me I think everyone should do it. When I am depressed I am useless, I sleep and sleep and wake up just as useless. It is a huge waste of time.

I think it is great when people can do things that just involve some simple activity to avoid the pain of stress.
