How do you giveaway unwanted male chicks? I want to incubate 12 or 18 eggs, so I’ll have a good amount of cockerels on hand when the hatch is over. So far, I haven’t contacted anyone who is interested in those possible cockerels, and I’m concerned I may have to cull them which to be quite honest I do NOT want to have to do.

!! x2! Made worse by the fact that it's literally impossible for me to house them past the age that chicks would grow out of the brooder.

If they are pure breeds they will be easier to rehome or sell.

I personally sell mine, as my neighborhood seems to have somewhat of a demand for purebred roosters. (Lots of mixed breeds here!)
If they are mixed breeds, you can try to give them away for free or sell them for cheap, but it might just be best to pay somebody else to cull them for you.

I have a friend who has property who likes to take roosters, I also keep them as long as I can. I put a crow collar on and keep them in a nest box with a door till 10 AM or so. Roosters are not a problem until they crow, I like having them around until then.

They’ll be CCLBs

All our birds are dual- purpose. Most of the cockerels and a few of the hens (those with genetic defects, like crossed beaks or nasty dispositions) will go into the freezer after they've been grown and fattened up.

The only chicks we cull are either deformed or sick.
I don’t know how to process birds
