How Do YOU guys Deal with a bad tempered rooster??

Huh. How interesting! Thanks for the explanation. Guess it's kind of like when a yak shakes their horns at me. When they do that, I have to show some kind of assertive behavior right back so they know I'm the boss. My roo, Jarhead, hasn't done anything at all aggressive to any of his humans yet, so hope it stays that way.

The wing is also used to court hens, and occasionally may do it to you if he "likes you". But that still should be corrected as that makes him above you and it could possibly lead to aggression

Good to know and watch for. So far I haven't had any Roos courting me, but I think my African Gander is.

He follow me everywhere and gives me a weird "honk"

We play punt the rooster. They fight with their feet, so it makes sense to them. And I am bigger and badder so its never something that needs to be hashed out a second time. I just make a ruckus, chase him around and scoop and toss him with my foot. No bodily harm, just a little quick learned humility.

I even pick up my toddler under his arms and chase the rooster around swinging the kid at him. That was Mr. rooster understands he's at the bottom, even below the kids.

Its something we've never had an issue with. The first time one of the roosters makes direct eye contact, or comes inside our personal space thats my reaction. Its never something they try again.

I have a 2 yr. old that was very mean to anyone, We found out he did not like Dh coming into the coop with his hoodie on so off his head it came and he calmed down but we also give him a treat and carry the Be good roo Stick just in case. We still love him
and
hes a hand some Blu cochin Gent.

I re-homed mine, via craigslist! Didn't want to but the granddaughter was petrified of him and I wasn't going to have her be scared to come to our house!!

I use the pick them up and carry them all over while I'm feeding up method. I have had some very people aggressive roos given to me- the kind that will jump up off the ground and aim at your eyes - aggressive. I used this method and they all became very nice roos. All my personal roosters behave, and I have like 150 of them or more..... and they also get along with each other. I find kicking, hitting or throwing things at them often tend to make the truly aggressive roos even more so in the long run.
