Well, yes, I reckon people should at least give things a chance, hear them out. Who knows, something you hear might start you thinking.

For countless thousands, earth wide this very thing has happened. There are over 7 million witnesses worldwide now with preaching in 235 lands. The part I think is so cool....it's all done by donations...the whole world wide religion is run on donations. There is no "set amount" or percentage for everyone to pay...that tells me something right there.

It's good, isn't it? I personally wouldn't fancy a life doing this volunteer work cos I'm really not that sort of girl...
But my mother gives donations regularly at her hall, and wants to start preaching more. She's extremely busy with her studies

It is....and it gets to the people where it is illegal as well. Of course the law is important...and must be followed...but when it comes to God's law versus mans law...well....duh.

That's great! So your mom is a JW? My DH is baptized,my 2 youngest are working on it...and myself as well.

Did you know that the JW's originally believed that there were only going to be 144,000 saved? they have dropped that claim.

I think a lot of preachers/priests are paid? Right? And don't some churches have a plate? or something?None of the people who run this are paid for it...locally or globally....

No...they have seen more meaning in the scriptures. The bible foretells that information will get brighter as time goes on....the 144,000 are the anointed who are bought from the earth to serve with Christ in heaven under His heavenly throne...the "other sheep" will live on a paradise Earth.

that would be tithing, and it's supposed to be 10% of your wages (sort of a holy flat-tax) some churches make it mandatory, some make it optional, all is tax-deductable, so use a checkbook.
