How do you milk a rooster?

I have been trying to do artificial insemination with my birds. I have watched and read several tutorials and on semen collection from roosters. I have two roosters, but havent been able to collect from either. Some one will say, “just put your birds together and let them do it the old fashion way.” for my situation thats not an option. Has any one had an success collecting semen from any of their birds?

When the judge at 4H showed me and my friend, she held the male upright by the belly (hand slightly cupped, two fingers against the keel and one on the outside of either leg holding him in place). She then placed her thumb on one side of his back between his wing and pointer on the other side and just let his back a few times like that. Seemed to work on him just fine.
