How do you prep your birds for the 4th of July?

What do you do to minimize the stress brought on by fireworks. I'm thinking about bringing my flock to the basement for the night ...

Then again, mine have frequent thunderstorms--that might desensitize them.

First year with chicks. The closest town with fireworks is 30 miles; closest neighbor is 1/2 mile. Should not be an issue here. But they are in the coop at dusk anyway.
my dogs, however, are ultra sensitive and freak. hoping our remote location helps there, too.

My chickens have never had a problem with fireworks, storms, or any other loud noises.

They'll generally deal with it better than many other animals. It might be a little upsetting to them, but that's about it. As long as you don't have the types of neighbors that would shoot fireworks at your yard, I'd just leave them out there.

I have three 6 week pullets coming on Thur, The fireworks are already being let off in the neighborhood. I'm hoping they will get used to them. My dog on the other hand may not.

In all my many years with chickens they have never been bothered by them. I leave mine in their coop. We have many many close neighbors who set off a ton of very loud ones to the point it sounds like a war going on. We are also only a mile from the city's big display so hear all that too.
We get very few thunder storms here so they are not desensitized by that.
