(from pa for reference...but have midwest relatives) so my mom's family (hillbilly) says PEEcan but my dad's family (proper midwesterns) says pehCAHN or peeCAHN but around here people also pronounce jalapenos as either haluhpeenoes or jaluhpeenoes and tortilla chips exactly how it is spelled (not with the y sound) so I always figured you can't trust a pa-er to pronounce anything right...that may just be me.
