How do you spoil your chickens?

I've tried grapes, strawberries, and cantelope but my girls aren't too excited over any of these. Go figure. Watermelon or tomatoes from our garden they absolutely love though! So I give them some of these every afternoon.

We feed our girls any extra watermelon, tomatoes, or figs we have in the garden! And they also like the cherries, blueberries, mango, & strawberries that get overripe in the kitchen. They love it when we freeze it in ice cube trays and give it to them when it gets too hot. They're pretty spoiled! We also give them the fruit and veggies scraps that would have gone into the compost.

Every one of my six 4 month old hens has a different liking. For my Eater Egger, cracked corn is her favorite. For my Easter Egger Bantam, she'll do ANYTHING for mealworms! She'll even do a trick such as hopping to get one! As for the rest of my chickens, they'll basically eat anything. I've tried fruits, veggies, and eggs, but if any of those ever get dirt on part of them, they leave it! Chickens are the funniest little things.

They go crazy about pomegranate, and fresh vegetables and watermelons but in the hot summer days they love this:

If you want to see your flock go completely nuts over something and spend hours absorbed in it, get them a flock block.View attachment 1118594

Totally off topic but what breed is the beautiful white and black one in the front right???

On topic. They get a handful of scratch (millet, corn, sunflower, safflower, mealworm mix) to get them back in the run before I got to work. We also throw them fruit and veggie scraps and bug eaten apples and plums from our trees. They love watermelon and fresh corn and they pick nectarine pits clean.

Lets see, I give mine peaches, meat, whole salads that sat in the fridge too long (not rotten or moldy), grapes, cucumber, any type of fruit, bread, pancake, rice, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage (raw), watermelon, and yogurt. Their ultimate favorite is the meat, cooked chicken or steak without seasonings or spices. Oh, one more, egg, cooked or raw. They love it!

Mine get all our slightly off fruits and veg, but they especially love fresh corn on the cob. I had a ton of baby carrots that got old and I blended them all up and portioned them out in zip locks and froze them, they go bonkers for those. Their favorites though are live superworms and earthworms.
