How do you spoil your chickens?

Mine love fruit. Anything with seeds. I've tried veggies but they take them and come back looking for something better. Bread is another one they love. Not nutritious so I ration it out. They like cooked rice and dry cereal. Nothing surgery. They are picky about their apples. If it has thick skin I have to cut it open or they leave it to rot. They pick mango, peach and nectorine pits clean. Same with corn on the cob.
Grubblies! They hear the bag and come running. LOL

They "safe range." I have a permanent run attached to the coop then I have another that I can link up with the first run but move it around. So they get new grass and bugs and such to scratch every couple of weeks.
They have a variety of nest boxes and roosts too. Their coop is cleaned at least once but generally twice a day.

i like to give my girls cantaloupe innerds.. they love the seeds n mush..
I call this "goop." They go nuts for it. I'll scoop out a cantaloupe and put the guts back inside. Refrigerate or freeze and give on a hot day. I have a picture of a rind that you can see my hand through it's so thin.

Blueberries! They love blueberries. I call out "blueberries" and they come running. It is the funniest thing.
Be aware of BLUE poop! I got left over blueberries from my sister and let them have at them. The next day there was blue poop in the coop. I about died! First from fright then from laughter once I realized it was from the blueberries.

In my photo, the big girl on the right is my nine-year old Light Brahma Lady Diane. The other black and white hen to her left is Lilith, an eight-year old Silver-laced Wyandotte.

Afternoon treats whatever's left over or fresh veggies fruits. Spaghetti is their favorite I use wheat pasta. I sprinkle feed over their treats in a platter. Occasionally I give fresh friuts on the ground so they scratch around and tear up. That seems the way they like it. Wipe beaks on the sand and rocks

If you want to see your flock go completely nuts over something and spend hours absorbed in it, get them a flock block.View attachment 1118594

Those are great. They make a Chick Stick also -- it kept my chicks entertained. I also gave them fresh dandelion greens and flowers, clover leaves and flowers and the seedy ends of new grass.

I spoil my chickens and ducks buy growing them a garden next to the coop, They get fresh vegetables daily from that. Plus I give them frozen corn when it is hot out to keep them cool. I also spend hours out in there yard digging and turning over dirt for worms. They get fresh chopped up grass and weeds too! Many of hours a day just holding and petting them, They really love that!
