How do you store all of you feed?

What ever I can get my hands on cheap!!! I use large rubbermaid trash cans with the locking lid, for feed and shavings. I use Folgers coffee cans for my grit and oyster shell. I watch yard sales for tupperware bowls, and used feeders and waterers. Just keep shopping around, and look your own house over for ideas on storage supplies. You will be surprised at what you find on hand. The main thing is to make sure everything seals good, even if kept in the shed or hen house.

For my dog and cats I have these:

I store those inside in a closet near the food bowl since they are all inside animals. I like these since they are on wheels but the wheels are also removeable. I only have the larger one on the bottom not the small one like pictured.

For the chickens feed grit and shells as well as Bird feed I used these:

I have two of the bigger ones and 2 smaller ones. I like these cus they stack but you can still scoop out of them thru the little door in the middle with out unstacking them. They did cost a bit of money but they are worth it and I've had them for over 5 years now.

(I had used these before I had chicken for my small animals, Rats, rabbit and G-pigs)

I use Gamma Vittles Vault containers for almost all of my feeds. They are the only containers that I have found that can keep out both ants and weevils. I've used almost every container mentioned in this thread without success, but the Vittles Vaults have worked perfectly, so far....

I use the 80 for horse and chicken feed, the 50 for dog food and the 25 for parrot and cat foods.

I use rubbermaid tubs that we just had around the house. I have a coop that is raised up about 2.5-3ft so I can fit three larger tubs underneath it. I have one each for bedding, DE, and feed (the feed bin has room for a bag of grit and a container of electrolytes). All I need now is a place for my scratch.

You have plenty of good answers, I also keep mine in 40 gal. metal trash cans, because of the squirrells chewing into plastic, also keeps out the 'coons. I just keep em inside my barn.

If you use metal trashcans (and yes, if there are raccoons in your feedroom then you do need metal!) then just a word to the wise, leave the feed in its bag, don't empty it into the trashcan itself. (Did that make sense?) If you empty the feed directly into the trashcan, you will have more of a mold problem from condensation on the inside when the weather changes.

Also for feeds with molasses in them (which mainly pertains to some horse feeds, not so much chicken feeds) they can be fiendishly difficult to deal with in cold weather if they're not still in the bag so that you can kick and punch and flex the bag to loosen the stiffened molasses

Pat, with feed stored in raccoon-proof coop in plastic garbagecans and rubbermaid thingies.

I am very fortunate to have a barn. Very unfortunate to have raccoons that are super smart and strong.

I keep all our feed in their original bags inside an old chest freezer in the barn. Nothing can get in and the feed stays clean, dry and fresh since the freezer itself has a seal on it.
