How do you store your eggs?

Mine go into egg cartons sand , feathers and all ! People get a kick about getting a feather . I wouldn’t date them , they have such a long shelf life especially in the fridge it’s just extra work for you,

I sell almost every egg we have 16-18 dozen a month and over never been asked when they were laid . I did print out a small sign telling people how long they’re good for .
i love the feather idea! they are so beautiful.

We store full dozens in the fridge with ascending numbers. Written with sharpie. Our kids know to take the lowest number. We too get many cartons donated. When we have a lot of extra eggs we give them to neighbors and friends.

we don't wash or refrigerate they will last longer that way
Not washing prolongs their freshness, but refrigerating them keeps them fresh longer too.

i read somewhere that you "can't" reuse egg cartons. i went on line and purchased all new ones :( is this true? how do u get around it?
I bought all new cartons to sell my eggs, I will reuse since they give me them back if there’s no spots inside at all

I just read someone tells customers to use her eggs within 2 weeks after lay date... store bought eggs can be two weeks old before they get to stores.

They last at least a month when stored in the fridge unwashed.

I can’t keep up with selling them , we use a bar fridge we had for the kids

I wash my eggs brifely under cold water dry them and put them in cartons piont down in the fridge. I stack them, so the one on the bottom is always the oldest. My buyers never let me get more than 3 dozen in my fridge at any time. If i get overloaded like in early spring i take them to one of three of our local food pantries. They say a egg does not need to be washed...but i dont like the thought of that as i will be cooking something, right , and i have to touch these....unwashed! NO.
we have a neighbor who refigerates there farm eggs but does not wash them, so they are in their fridge, poop and all......

Most eggs don't have poo on them if you keep the nests and coop clean. Sometimes it happens and I'll wash and refrigerate those. All the rest don't even get rinsed until they are about to get cracked.
