Yes, this was after collecting. I don't keep the eggs in the basket.Oh my... that would be a nightmare for me! I'd have to be digging down to the bottom any time I needed an egg to try and use the oldest first. I could never do it this way... They'd need to put one of those long sleeved shirts on me... the ones with the buckles and straps...
I'm making an assumption that this is after collection but before packaging/"cartoning"? That sure does look like a nice collection. Very nice basket too!
My method to the T.Mine are washed and in egg cartons in the frig, with oldest on the left, always.

Thank you! I started with only brown egg layers, and then found out about all the other options... I miss my French Black Copper Marans hens!I love that idea. But sucks if they crack

We are anxiously awaiting our first egg, but this thread opened my eyes! I hadn't even thought about how we are going to store our eggs!We have been saving egg cartons since we got our chicks in February, so we have a decent amount saved up! This thread has so many great ideas!
