How fast is your internet connection?

Greetings, Not sure of the new wireless net we just got yesterday but it seems very fast. We had dial up for years that was slow as molasses. What a luxury.

Yep, that is us too. We are in city limits (barely), but when we had Verizon for home service, it was over $70 JUST for the line, no long distance, unlisted number and caller id. The taxes over here are horrible. So we got rid of the home line, switched internet to satellite (our only other choice). Our contract should be up in a few months. We're going to look into a radio internet something-or-other. They need line-of-sight and 2 years ago their tower wasn't tall enough (too many trees around us). They were planning on building a taller one though.

HughesNet is horrible with their bandwith usage. I alway have my Download Allowance Status up and sometimes being on this forum (and others) takes up to 10%. But yet other days, my DH and I can go on a bunch of Facebook games and it doesn't use anything. Go figure.

First time was download 4.49mbps and upload was 2.77 mbps I did not catch the ping the first time.

Mines pretty quick down stream an ok up stream for normal home use but I host my website on it so for that its still rather slow. Those webcams eat the bandwidth alive.
