How hot is it where you are????

It was 105 today, expected 107 the rest of the week. I must say we have gotten a lot of rain this past week, first measurable rain since last september, boy did we need it! Bad thing is now it is also humid.... it won't last long though.

I still miss Austin, TX- until I remember the heat and drought. Here in South Carolina it is in the nineties, and so humid you have to cut the air to move through. Six of one, half dozen of the other!

Right this minute, it is POURING rain and very windy. We're hearing branches landing all over the roof.

Hi Kathy...Hot and Dry here too

Your broody is STANDING over her eggs??? Wow. I have a tarp over the run for shade, and a mister to help cool off the chickens. There are cracks running through the yard that I'm afraid I'm going to fall into

And we were supposed to get rain this week...what happened???

I lost another pullet today... she was just at point of lay... and I had on the AC last night until 8PM.

She looked just fine yesterday... then my Speckled Sussex almost 20 weeks old looked bad..

Got her inside, got her to drink water w/ antibiotics but she coughed up some blood. I don't know if she'll make it.

It's 106 out there right now, but I do have an AC unit on in the coop.

Makes me wonder if I should just give away the rest of my chickens...

In Southeast Texas, it is hot and humid...almost tropical. We have been getting thunderstorms for the last few late afternoons though. My chickens love going out after the rain. They find worms galore.

The porch thermometer (in the shade) got up to 96 today. Right now the humidity is still at 86%.
It's threatened rain several times this week, but no banana.

I saw my chickens twice today; once when I let them out of the coop this morning and once when I put them up for the night. They spent the whole day in the brush/woods behind their coop.
