How Important Is Senior Prom?

I skipped my senior prom and I do regret it. You only get to do it once. I went to my junior prom but I didn't go to any dances my senior year. It's your last year!! I was living with my "date" and he decided he didn't want to go last minute. I've found I had more fun at dances without dates than with dates. That way, you don't feel obligated to dance with one person the whole night or like you have to babysit them.

If it's not TOO costly, I'd go. even if it was for an hour. Be seen, talk to people you normally wouldn't give the time of day. It's good practice for "the real world" you are about to enter. You'll be envited to things you really nave no interest in, fake enjoying it, hopefully get promoted or a raise...etc...

I went to mine without a date ended up leaving with five prom pictures and three dates.
The "jocks" thought it would be "Cool" to sneek in some booze. Most got drunk, all were obnoxious to their dates and angry at me for dancing with "their girl". I was a "Band Geek" all the majoretts knew me well

so that got things rolling and at times I was dancing with three and four girls at a time.
One jock type took a swing at me but ...Oh Snap! the band geek is a brown belt at Karate..oops. At that point enough was enough and the principal kicked them out.

I had a blast...and almost didn't go.
I did get in a few fights the next week...but it was worth it.

Yep, this sucks. I have to buy tickets by tomorrow and I still have no date. I'd probably rather stay at home anyways. I have four years of college to party it up anyways.

I'm sure that'll be fun.

I didn't go by choice and I don't feel I missed anything.

My daughter skipped hers last year as well.

I never understood what the big deal was.

I don't get what the big deal is either! It just seems like any other dance, only you have to pay tons of money to buy tickets and a dress. I'm prolly not going to mine this year either.

I went with friends, wore a zoot suit, with chains and hat. I made front page of the school newspaper. Prom queen didnt. Punk won. She still doesnt like me.

I went to a big rabbit show rather that attend my senior prom, and never regretted it.

I didn't go to mine (1992) and don't regret it at all. In 10 years, nobody cares who went with whom to the prom. Do what you want & enjoy life on your terms.
