That's really no way to determine wealth or lack thereof.
Example: a New Yorker (New York CITY) earning 75,000/year wouldn't be considered "rich" by standard of living. Now, somebody living in Davidson Tennessee making 75,000/year would be super-rich by standard of living.
But by any standard, even the "bums" on our streets have more wealth than most of the world. How do I know, they have smokes, beer and a dog.
