How is your flock today?

No worries, I understand completely, keep talking if you like. :) I am amazed by what you done for your hen to make her better and she is recovering and getting better by the day, that's awesome.

I am not sure I could have pulled that one off, I have a hard enough time dealing with egg bound issues. I am afraid that I am not getting the syringe down far enough and in the right spot. So far after having done it a few times it's a little easier and we haven't lost anyone yet.

It's unfortunate that undereducated people have to post comments like that. IMO, Barbaric would be having a horse who just broke it's leg and not doing the humane thing sooner over later, some people just don't get it.

The other day I had to LOL when I seen someone posted that people shouldn't eat chickens because they are all pets. Sometimes I just have to bite my tongue and keep my comments to myself, but there has been a time or two I have slipped. :gig
Wow thank you so much!! I've never had to deal with egg bound chickens yet thank goodness. I don't know anything about it. I'm sure you could do it don't worry. :)

I agree 100%. It's called the last act of kindness for a reason. Sometimes I feel like folks keep suffering animals alive under the false pretense of caring for the animal when in reality it's to protect their own feelings as blunt as that may sound.

Oh boy.. I hear you completely there. I actually just had a conversation with somebody the other day, a farmer, who said generally speaking he's not interested in what city folks have to say. That's a little more close minded than I try to be admittedly but I thought wow, that sounds freeing. I mean truth be told I feel like some folks are too far gone, and debate won't do anything. I try to bite my tongue too but I've also not a time or two as well lol.

I feel inbetween with this sort of thing too because on one side I've seen vegans and vegetarians be super unreasonable, spread false information, and assume every farmer is cruel.
Oh the other hand though I've seen way too many farmers get unreasonably upset and offended over people being vegans or vegetarians when in reality there's actually vegan and vegetarian farmers for one lol, I actually know one local to me, and she's a real one too like she's got a big farm. You wouldn't expect her to be one seriously.

I guess I just hate the division, I think too many people are falling to one of those extremist sides. It's unfortunate.

I have a quick question I want to ask, that I figured was better to ask on this thread, haha. Two or so weeks ago I got some guinea keets to help battle the ticks, as they have been PARTICULARLY bad this year. The keets are adorable, but they eat so much. They also have developed much faster than your average chick. Is this normal? Or do keets just eat massive amounts of food and grow quickly? They are too little to let forage at the current moment, because otherwise I would have them out foraging right now. They are on a game bird starter/grower feed.
Hello, Thanks for posting, but I am no expert on raising Keets. The link below should put you in touch with people who know all about them. Best of luck. :)

I agree with you on how people seem to becoming. It's getting hard to find anyone online that you can have decent conversation's with.

I don't have any guinea's so I'm unable to help you with that. I'm glad that you thought enough of us here in this thread to pop in here, and hope that you will come back later and tell us how they are doing.

By the way, Ruby's now down at the coop today. We have an inside coop and an outside coop as we call it, basically a run but both have roosts and nestboxes. Anyways Ruby's now in the inside coop alone, before she was up here in a large cage in the house. She is eating and drinking completely on her own now!

I took her out still today for a bit as usual. I think it's helping the other chickens get used to her again too. It's funny watching how protective our rooster is. He immediately comes over and does the wing thing with her lol.

So true. Looks like I just found my people though on here with you and @416bigbore though lol :)

I chat with @416bigbore in private messages here pretty often, and I was able to email him a document that I had saved to my pc earlier today on hatchability that was 6 pages long. ;) I saved it awhile back, and as I was looking at it, I seen that I need to go back over it again myself. I haven't figured out a way to print the darned thing out yet, though.

I tried that, but there seem's to be some sort of lock on it that won't let you print it out. I even tried to import it into my LibreOffice 6.4, and also my Paint Shop Pro to try to get it to print.

How about copy and paste and then hit print? If not since I have it I can print and extra copy and send hard or email it to you? I like saving stuff like that in my emails because you will always have it stored there unless your email account is Hacked?

Just a thought. :)
