How is your flock today?

I'm glad that thing's seem to be going good for you and the animal's. That's a cute pup, and I hope that you get to keep him.
Well a puppy was not in the current equation that is for sure. LOL But if no one claims Ruffus, I am sure we will keep him. I still want to take him to the Vet and make sure he don't have an ID chip in his neck first. Then if not, have the Vet give him all his shots and I guess he will be a new member of our family. :love

My chickens are doing much better since the temperature has warmed up. Compared to negative temps from a week ago. Much more activity and clucking away. Though there is about of 1 1/2 feet of snow outside the chickens do not like to venture out.

Here are my 18 four-week-old Rhode Island Reds attacking their breakfast. I take the feeder and waterer in at night, because the water freezes and rodents eat their food. Also them free ranging in the desert next to me while I was working on my vehicle, because they can fit through gaps in the fence that I thought would be too tight. Cheers! :)

I guess that since I live in the valley part of the desert over here, I wouldn't want to walk out the door into that much snow neither. I'm glad that you and your flock are ok up there otherwise.

But where are all of those new baby duck's that you just hatched?

What breed are your 9? Will you be hatching from your flock then in the spring?
Oh its a mix bunch. 7 hens and 2 roosters. 3 Seramas (that is including one of the roosters), one of each of the following: Cuckoo Maran, Quailantwerp Bantam, Braham Bantam, Blue Cochin Brantam/English Orpington, Olive Egger, and Cuckoo Maran/English Orpington (other rooster). I plan on hatching again from this year. If any of my hens turns broody I'll let them do the work. Yet even then I'll probably use an incubator to get the numbers I would like. What kind of breed do you have?
