How is your flock today?

Aloha kakahiaka all!
I have found adding poultry vitamins at least 1x per week has really kept my illness/losses down too. So interesting 😁💕
It is a beautiful Aloha Sunday here. Chooks in paradise as we all love the winters.

I actually got 9 eggs yesterday! A number I have not seen in awhile.
I am contemplating selling a pair of Brahma's. Be nice to have less roos's but I am feeling attached to the one I should rehome and to lose a hen in the deal makes me double sad. In the scheme of problems, it is a good one to have. I am trying to vet the guy... see what info he provides. Sounds very nice so far but feeling these are my babies and they don't go to just anyone.

The winter rains have revived the grasses so I cut a little for the nest boxes and am drying on the roof of coop. Will keep doing till I fill a few bags again.
Baby Brahma's have/had the pox but are almost through with them. Only cockerel seemed to be hit a little hard as he had bites by his eye. I eye droped him w/ antibiotics and it really helped really quick as always. And of course, poultry vitamins are terrific too.

I brought Sunny and Rainbow to the farmers market for the first time yesterday. They did very well! Especially as it was their first cage experience and first road trip since I brought them home from USPS as hatchlings. I was ready to cover the cage and whisk them into my vehicle if they got panicky.

They're both off the Welsh Harlequin color standard, and Rainbow is intersex to some degree, so I can spot them from across the yard. (I want to bring the same two ducks every time, so they get used to the routine.) I also pen them together overnight when I collect hatching eggs, so I *don't* collect their eggs.

I'm glad that I'm not the only one that gives that to the flock once a week even through the winter month's. Yes, it's hard to decide who sometimes when there is a need to rehome the extra boy's when you have more then one good boy.

Spokesduck's? Are you teaching them how to talk? :gigYes, if you transport them often enough they should start getting used to it. I noticed that the swimming pool couldn't fit into the cage. What did you bring in that pot on the table?

I love your Brahmas! My first chicken breed was bantam Brahmas, and I really liked them. One even won "Best Feather-Legged Bantam" [edit: at my county fair] over at least a dozen silkies and cochins, which was a lovely surprise. Feathered legs get torn up and frazzled in the desert environment here, unfortunately. Aloha! :)
