That's kind of what mine looks like, but I have a lot more clutter. My house is a cabin, but it's only 600 sq. ft. not including the porch. Clutter builds up pretty quickly. Our garage is only slightly smaller than the house.

It's rustic/hunting cabin-ish. DH's dad was 1/2 Blackfoot and made a lot of American Indian stuff, carved heads, wooden horse plaques, handmade snowshoes, stuff like that.

Our house is eclectic. A little of this and that. Mostly contemporary with a few antiques.

Living room has light green walls, cherry Pergo flooring with a leafyish rug. Lots of house plants and a 75 gallon West African biotope aquarium. Abstract oil painting by my aunt, and a couple of prints with birds and cats on the walls. Oh yeah, a Picasso print as well. Balinese wood carving sits on the entertainment stand with some plants. End tables are a cherryish wood with marble tops. Couch is kind beat up. Overall feel is kind of gardenish.

Kitchen has shiny fake pine paneling, courtesy of the previous owners who polyurethaned it, so we can't even paint or wallpaper over it. Picture knotty pine without the knots, and wicked shiny. Room is accented with sunflowers. Two aquariums are in the seating area. A 20 gallon goldfish tank and an empty 40 gallon which had a leak, has been repaired and is awaiting refilling. Very pleased with the new addition of an antique Hoosier cabinet. We really needed the storage space!

Our bedroom is white, with crown moulding. There is regular moulding about 14 inches below the ceiling. Between this moulding and ceiling, it is painted sky blue, with clouds. Has a 55 gallon South American community tank.

The other two bedrooms have no current theme yet. One is basically storage for now (green) and the other(yellow) is/will be a combination studio/den/library. The yellow room has a sliding glass door leading to a ramp, where we hope to build a deck this year.

Liberal amounts of cat and dog hair create a unifying theme throughout the house. Early American clutter often threatens to overshadow any other themes.

Wood. My whole house is knotty pine, the walls, the ceilings, even in the bathroom. So it's a brown house. With a beige carpet. (ACK!!) So other than the deer heads on the wall (well, it was an is, sort of, a hunting lodge) I try to use large floral prints or jewel colors in the draperies. Too bad all my furniture is brown wood, if I'd known I was going to live in a brown wooden house one day, I would have bought tables, etc with glass and iron work!

Oh, as to decorations, pelicans, labrador stuff, and lots of throws.

I am a big fan of the farmhouse/country look. I don't have everything the way I want it just yet. We're in the process of remodeling a couple of rooms, and I really don't have much by the way of accessories yet (knickknacks and things to hang on the walls and whatnot). We don't have any curtains (it helps that we live in the middle of nowhere) because I can't decide what I want to do with the windows yet.

It doesn't help that standard 1" blinds don't fit.

Here is the master bedroom... I painted and DH put up the chair rail. Before, the room was a standard builder's beige.

Over the summer, we painted our shutters and I overhauled all of the gardens. I am a big fan of gardening and like to be outside in the summer messing around with the plants.
