How large can an egg get from a red star hen????

Hello everyone, I am a new chicken owner as of this year and have found this website so helpful, I just had to join! Many of you senior chicken owners I am sure have run into this from time to time, but this amazed me. I have 2 red star hens both about 30 weeks old and lay about everyday. I have one of her usual eggs next to the large egg= 3.1 ounces... Just had to share this with everyone.. and please I would love to hear how common is this and what causes this. Thank you everyone! It's probably a double yolker. It's normal to get these on occasion with new layers. Just a hiccup in the egg assembly line.

Thank you Happy Chooks, I will have to crack it open and see.. She has been know for the pullet bullets, this one was a change from her norm..
