How likely is Hatchery to send extra chick?

How are your 5 babies doing? Did one of the EE turn out to be a roo? If you aren't sure post a pic and folks can help weigh in.
They’re doing great! One is a roo sadly, so I’m happy I got an extra. He was the bossy one as a chick. I posted him to a rooster rehoming page on Facebook, but no takers so far. Even said I didn’t mind if someone used him for food. Maybe because he’s only 8 weeks old? We have a local livestock auction so that’s my next move. But what if no one wants him? Rehoming him is really stressful.

Here are some pics of him and then the ladies.

Two minutes? I have EEs that carry on for half the afternoon and start in again when another lays and begins squalling.
From what you said about orpingtons you made it sound like they never sing lol. Also I rounded it down. Cause it feels more like 5 minutes when she gets at it.

My easter eggers do like to sing along to the other hens. But not as much as yours do. It could be that I bred my EEs myself.

I have had to rehome roosters in the past. It’s best to just take him to the auction. The rehoming can take months.

Here are some better pics of the other Easter egger. Still looks like a straight comb to you experts?

She’s gotten a lot nicer and so has her brother. I think she’s so pretty. I do wish she had beard and muffs and pea comb. Im still hopeful she’ll give me green or blue eggs.

Someone will buy him from it. Trust me, they make sure of it. It is best ti wait 2-4 more weeks if you can though. They are more likely to sell for more.
I just want him gone. I’d give him to someone else to take to auction just to have the problem gone. I’m not sentimental about chickens. I got them to be pets and I will protect them and like them, but I think using a rooster for food is a good use. I just don’t want to do the deed myself.

I hate to tell you this, but that looks like an extra orpington not an EE.

Why do people buy roosters from auctions when so many give them away for free?
Because, its just easier. Ive sold a rooster for 15$ before just because he was pretty. And I have sold a SLW for 45$ before people buy them because they are good quality. Most of the ones being given away are very low quality chickens.

She isn’t shaped like an Orpington and has green legs. She really doesn’t look like other Easter Eggers I’ve seen though. I’m not sure what to think.

She looks like a Silver Laced Wyondotte mix to me. As long as she lays eggs I’ll keep her! I just hope they aren’t brown- at least the same shade as the Orpingtons because I have 3 other brown layers and don’t have the backyard space for many more.
