Oh I've had many an incubators before. I started in the 70s with a gqf chickbator 9100 mini dome. After actually hatching one quail in it I quickly moved up to a hovabator. Back then they were round instead of square.
Had a couple sportsman over the years. I like them. Also had the little giants and one farm innovations. Both of those brands are junk. I just ended up back to the hovabators because they're so easy and always had the best hatch rates with them.
I have 7 of them.
I scored a Pepsi cooler with a glass door earlier this year so over the winter I'm gonna turn it into an incubator. Hoping in the future to build a XL one then use the Pepsi one as my Hatcher.
I don't mind radios. I have a ton of birds and free range most of them so we have two radios outside and one in the barn that play 24/7 as a predator deterrent. Makes good sense that I might as well have one in the incubator room too just for the heck of it.
