How long did it take before people were giving you chickens?

my entire kictchen is black and white cows...with a few chicken things tossed in.....but lately I have been adding more chicken stuff. IF my kitchen was ever clean I would take a picture of all the cow stuff and show off....

hmmm that gives me a reason for cleaning it a guess

I was really surprised when I picked up the spoons -- they are very heavy and thick - the figures are stamped into the metal.

I got them for $8.... then found them online for $21.50! I got a great deal.

I used them the first time when I made 2 fresh berry pies a few days ago.

I have them hanging up where they can be seen

It's kinda funny... I never thought I'd be interested in chickens. If you'd told me in June I'd join BYC in August and have a coop by October, I'd have said you were crazy!

I have been giving rooster related gifts over the last few years to grandbaby's other grandma, who's kitchen is chock full of rooster stuff.

In fact, our first rooster was a gift, our oldest daughter started pre-k last year, and a friend came over, offered us an alarm clock for Alyssa's first day of school. Well he was little and cute, why not. Two weeks later, the girls were outside trying to teach him to cock-a-doodle-doo, and I told them, don't teach him that, he'll never stop. He slept in one day....and that was the one day we were late getting Alyssa off to school.

I also kind of collected old porcelain and ceramic roosters well before I had chickens. But that somehow said to everyone...give her anything to do with chickens! I had some hidious gifts. They went into a closet and then sneaked into a goodwill box. I do have some that I treasure, like some really old rooster and hen salt and peppers from my hubby's grandma in NE.

My hubby doesn't bring me gifts.

unless you count the fresh venison livers. A chicken trinket would be nice

the name of the painting is evil chick cause one of them looks like he's plotting to take over the world

well...people have been giving me chicken related things since BEFORE i had chickens. I got towels, etc for the kitchen long time ago. But since getting them, things have come in more rapidly. Most recently is a Longaberger trivet with a chicken on it.

My friends think I'm crazy, so the last thing they'd do is enable me! I would LOVE some chicken stuff.
