Our flock of ducklings (2 peking, cayuga, and 1 khaki cambell) just turned 5mos old. These are our 1st ducklings we've raised and everything I had read said that i should expect eggs at 6 months. So honestly I haven't been paying attention, but tonight I locked them up and found 3 eggs in their box!

Awesome, except I can't say for sure how long they have been there. We've had temps constantly in the upper 80-90's and i last cleaned their house 8 days ago.
Excitement has me wanting to eat duck egg omelets for breakfast in the morning but rational thought says to toss these and be ready to get the fresh ones in the future.
What would you do?

They sank, so we ate them. Tasted good.
Good for you. Tossing would have been a waste IMO. The eggs have a bloom that protects them pretty well. They certainly could still rot inside, but it takes more than just a few days typically. Many people keep eggs for several days without refrigeration, and it's preferred that they NOT be washed in such cases since washing removes the bloom.

Yeah, that's what we do with the chickens eggs but wasn't sure about the ducks.
Thanks for the responses everyone!
