How long does it take?

Ok, I have had a silkie bantam hen laying on eggs for 12 days now and I have a question. I have looked it up and it says that silkie bantams take 21 days to have their eggs hatch although, my friend who has had bantam for a long time, said they have hatched in 18 days. Does anyone know how long it take for Silkie Bantam chicks to hatch?

Silkies take 21 days to incubate give or take, under a hen they should be right in that time frame.

Your friend is correct , silkies can start hatching from day 18. I've had an entire clutch hatch shortly after turning the automatic turner off.
