How long to give them? Bator eggs.

Don't despair, things happen. When I first started incubating I used barnyard eggs. The chicks I gave away. My first hatches were around 60% gradually I tried different things and have had 100% hatches with my smaller hatches. Now it's generally between 80 and 90%. You just have to keep trying. It was several hatches before I got some good hatch rates. I dry incubate and really kick up the humidity to around 75% during the last 3 days. I now incubate in a cabinet incubator but hatch in my styrofoam incubators (hatchers). Good luck and have fun...

Sorry about the chick that died :( If you prefer not to incubate in the future maybe one of the chicks will become a hen that will hatch eggs. I preferred hatching with broody hens when I had one, I've had hatches where none of the eggs hatched. To wait 3 weeks and hand turn them 3 times a day was very disappointing.

I have had some poor hatches and some decent hatches with shipped eggs. Not sure why. Most likely due to handling I assume. When I ship eggs I pack them very well, but no matter how well I pack them, shaking the package can cause problems with their air cells.
