How loud is a rooster's crow compared to-

It can be startling if you're standing right next to him and not expecting it, but I tend to be jumpy anyways. It's quite soothing compared to my parrots screaming. I only have little parrots ( white capped pionus). But I much prefer the rooster crow. It has a definte beginning and a definte end.

IMO a rooster no where compares to the ear shattering, glass rattling scream of a cockatoo or a parrot. We owned a cockatoo years ago and he could bring about pain in the ears he was so loud. Sometimes he sounded like the screeching of tires.
