$1.84 and less. I'm kinda laughing at all those people that bought GM's "flat price gas for a year b.s." yunno..the people that would do ANYTHING but get a more gas efficient vehicle
My big fear is that everyone will go back to their wasteful lifestyles now that gas is sub $2 / gallon. The fact that everybody tightened up lowered our demand, and proved to OPEC that we are willing and able (and frustrated enough) to start weening off our addiction from their petrol supply. And, what does ANY good drug dealer do when he knows somebody is kicking the habit? He lowers the price to get you hooked again. Sound familiar?
We were sitting at a stop light last evening and saw them changing the sign from $2.03 to $1.99!!! This is the first I have seen below $2 here!!! WOOHOO!

That's my fear, too. I sat in the gas lines of the 70's - and watched as American car manufacturers ignored the inevitable and came out with bigger and bigger gas guzzlers. Of course I can't just blame the Big 3, the government has done everything in its power to keep us on the oil pipeline for as long as they can.

I think you give OPEC too much power. Look closer to home for the reasons we're still so heavily dependent on petroleum. It makes many people at the top of the economic heap right here in the ole US of A plenty of money - and they want to keep it that way.

Yep, that's exactly what's going on. As I said before, it's got nothing to do with supply and everything to do with demand.
This time, though, when they played with the prices, they brought the whole house of cards down. What were those cards? Us, the little people, we crumbled under the weight of everything they want us to pay. Bonfire of the Vanities - greed is good
