How many chickens can fit in a 150 foot run with a large coop?

The birds should have 4sq ft per bird in a coop that protects them from the elements and 10sq ft per bird in the run.

Oh my gosh. Should I get another coop for them?

If I’m seeing correctly the only space that is protected from the elements appears to Maybe be 3x2 and that’s including nest boxes.
This will not stand come winter.
You will either lose birds to exposure to the elements or to predators.
I didn’t realize you had 6 chickens either...the coop can barely hold 2-3 birds comfortably. Which is indeed why your birds are roosting on top of it like owl bait.

Lol! I'm not sure how much help I will be... I would probably just go to the Coops page here (I'm on mobile and can't seem to link). Click on "Articles" and look through the section on coops.

There is also a great thread for helpful tips for building, but it is very overwhelming!

I built my coop using recycled and scavenged materials for about $250 from plans I drew up myself. My run was stupid expensive, and I'd do it differently if I had a do-over. Probably go with a chain link dog kennel and predator-proof it with hardware cloth and cement. And I'd probably start a coop from a shed if given chance...

You can get plans off the internet for free, too. That's where I started and tweaked them to suit my needs.

About 5 or 6 feet of branches that I’ve added to the manufactured roosts.

Perhaps you could modify your current prefab coop by enclosing the run and adding another roost inside...that way you could at least *mostly* accommodate your current birds more comfortably? I wouldn’t add anymore to that set up but at least your current flock would be safe at night.

We are in the process of converting an 8' × 10' Wooden Barn style Shed, to house 9 Chickens. We are building the Roost Bars and Poop Trays to handle 20 Birds. ( I have Addiction issues so I planned ahead. ) This shed was unused and on the property when we bought it 4 years ago, but, " You Remove, " Sheds are Cheap or Free on Craigslist and Online Area Garage Sale Sites. We are just cutting and screening Vents on the sides and near the peak, and adding the Roost/Poop Board setup. We have time to build or buy Nesting Boxes. Some 2×4's and Hardware cloth and we are just at $100 invested. Worth a look around...JJ

Totally the route I will go with my next coop.
