So... is that enough or do you want more birds?

Actually I've cut back, I sold out of some breeds last year. I used to have Buckeyes, Red Turkins, Partridge Brahmas, Blue Gold Partridge Brahmas, Cream Legbars, Black & Mottled English Orpingtons, and 4 colors of Old English Game bantams as well. There are other breeds I'd like to raise but I'm maxed out on space at the moment. So to add a new breed I'd have to get rid of one. I've got a 30x50 barn full and three smaller buildings full.

Or build coops. Why did you stop raising the Cream Legbars? Just curious since i have some chicks. Are they hardy birds?

Yes they are fairly hardy birds. And laid a lot of huge eggs. I had raised them for about 5-6 years and I wanted to bring in another breed. And the Legbars were on top of my "whose leaving" list. I had improved them as far as I could by culling and adding better bloodlines. So it was time to move them down the road and focus on another breed.

Ok thank you for your input.

We've got 30+ that we use for meat and eggs.

We just recently stocked the freezer and then the neighbor's dogs diminished our flock a bit. :(

We've got jersey giants, light brahmas, isa browns, rhode island reds, gold and silver laced wyandottes, barred rocks, and one buff orpington. And tons of chicks that are all of the above.
