My coop is 5m squared and they have a large run/free-range area, what is the maximum amount of chicken I could get. sorry for lot of questions, just need help.

Isn't 5 meters 16.4 feet?

A 16.4 x 16.4 coop is a great big size.

So, 269 square feet.

If you want each chicken to have 5 square feet of space (over the minimum, and a fine size for moderate climates) that would be 269÷5= 53 chickens

If you are in a nasty climate, where they might get locked up for a week or more at a time, I think 10 square feet per chicken is better. So 269÷10=26 chickens.

Is each wall 5 meters long?
That would be 25square meters or 269sq feet.
Or is it 5 square meters? That would be just shy of 54 sq feet. This one makes more sense so I'm going with this. I'd say 12 birds would be comfortable inside of course each bird needs a bit less than a square meter (.929) of run space. Free range is a marvelous bonus, but there are times you may need to lock them away in a run. So, decide how much land (in square meters) you want to dedicate to building a run. You can have 1 chicken for each square meter of run land but not more than the 12 that gits in your coop.
Did I make sense? I'm a Yank so we use square feet. Hubby is British so...
