How many chicks will fit in a watermelon bin?

I have 1000 chicks coming and have 5 watermelon bins ....will they hold 200 chicks a piece for a few days ?

Newly hatched chicks need about 72 square inches each. So, the answer to your question is yes, a watermelon box will "hold" 200 chicks, but the chicks will only have about 36 square inches each.

And they grow so fast!! Mine are only 2 1/2 weeks old and had to relocate! Choose wisely!

I am not growing them but selling them. Shouldn't have them in their longer then 7 days.
