Curious, how many coops have you had, how many did you make yourself and how long have you had chickens?
What would be the ONE thing that you would change if you could?

Planned to build one big one to house all BUT .. . the different ages requires separate housing until the youngest are much older. Thinking of breeding now--need breeding pens. Got 3 roos in the hatchery pullet selection--not sure if they should be moved to a bachelor pad or stay with the girls--they are not mature enough to cause much trouble yet.

I'm new to chickens. One hen acquired last fall; added 25 in Feb and 2 more batches still in the house.

Started with one. Now have 7. Hoping to be building another new little one for our Serama's this weekend. Never Enough!!!!

I've had four coops and built three. Two of those were built with my husband, one I built before I met him. The one I didn't build was a big hen house that was already on the farm I was renting, before I could afford a house on my own. I've had chickens on and off for over thirty years. There were a few years when I was traveling a lot or working 60 hours a week and a couple when I lived in a city. I wish automatic doors had been available sooner.

I have 1 big coop, 1 med and 1 small....like someone else said they are diff age groups

I have 12 coops, 2 chicken houses, built ZERO myself, have had chickens since I was a kid (MANY years ago).

The ONE thing that I would change is that I would trade in all of the coops and chicken houses for a VERY LARGE red barn (1/4 the size of a football field) that could house all of my animals.
