I have this idea to keep dark cornish roosters over rock, orpington, leghorn, EE, RIR.... hens to keep for meat birds. I have heard that they are very good at foraging and protecting their ladies.

I am concerned that if I keep more than one I might have fighting roosters all the time. I guess my question is once the pecking order is settled will multiple Dark Cornish roosters calm down and be okay with others around??

It will depend upon the temperment of the roosters involved, but given enough space and hens roosters generally sort out their position in the flock.

Well we are on 15 acres but they will most likely only roam 5 or so and we should have 25 or so hens.

I have nine cockerels right now. However they are for meat but I would like to end up with 2 or 3 of the best for breeding. I just don't want to cull too earlier but I realize I may be playing with fire if I wait too long.
