I told them today, that I was really looking forward to them being out of my space... Just an observation from the sidelines.

These people are not "building" their yurt like they are supposed to be. They have made no effort to ease the situation. I guess they are building their yurt to live next to nature, but evidently your house is more comfy.

Do you really think they are going to take care of your animals when you are gone?

Do you really think you are going to get any useful work out of'em?

Are you really going to trust them?

No apologies here, but I ain't a yurt building, potty in a bucket, living next to nature, cannibis smokin hippie.

I got to wonder, in Vermont, in the winter time, where do they go? And why can't they stay their for summer.

Yes, I believe they are in their yurt. I asked her on another thread last week and she said they were out of her house.

they finished the yurt, and then took off on a roadtrip to california, and it is much easier with them gone... but I was sort of counting on them to help wiht the garden.... BUT, we spent 5 days down in Philly 2 weeks ago, before they left, and they took care of my goose, 13 chickens, 7 ducks, 4 ducklings, 5 turkylings, and 24 chicks... and nobody died. so that really counts for a lot. we wouldn't have been able to go without their help.... so, good and bad... like most other things!

Glad things are working out and you got them out of your house. Very interesting thread, thanks for sharing. I had to google Yurt myself, never heard of one.

How much trouble would it be to post some pictures of this thing?

it's technically a YOME, a yurt/dome kind of thing... wood sticks make up triangles for the walls, and the roof is kind of like a giant wheel, with spokes...

the dilapidated cabin in the background is where we lived before DH build our new house...

I would have made them stay in the cabin while they were building their yurt.​
