how many days 'til houseguest start to smell? Not so many....

Oh, sorry to hear that they are still driving you crazy. Duck fat is great to cook with, but I surely wouldn't do it in a vegetarian's home, especially one that had ducks!! How rude! Hopefully all goes well while you are gone, have a good trip!

Yes. I've been quite clear. In fact I likened their eating of duck in my house to my eating babies in theirs (dramatic and not quite the same, I know.. but the point was clear), and they wouldn't DREAM of eating or killing any of my animals. but still, the duck fat in my frying pan was g r o s s ... and I'd been wiping it up with bits of paper towels off the stove and counter for days without knowing what I was touching! EW! My goal is to get all the birds outside with proper heat and bedding and food, so it's easy for them to care for them well. the easier it is to do a good job, the more likely they are to do it!

we're on day 16 or 17 now...

i haven't checked this in a while. im surprised they are *still* in your house! and using duck fat to cook while knowing you are vegatarian. bad. yuck-o! sorry to hear they are still there. good luck still..

Why do I have the feeling that this is not going to go well??? If these people are doing this to you now, how do you think they will do when you are gone?? Do you really feel comfortable with them "taking care" of your place in your absence?
I keep hearing the "Jaws" shark song in my hear. Da dum, Da dum, Dadum Dadum Dadumdadumdadum.......

yeah... my expectation was that they would not be in my house at all, especially when I am gone... and I would lock the doors and they would do outside chores only, and I'd set the cat up with a food dispenser and water dispenser etc... but they are spending an awfully lot of time in my house.. just 'hanging out'... so I've got to figure it out, but I don't want to be a jerk if they're planning on being out anway but NO, I don't want them in the house when I'm gone... it all depends on the housing developments... and the weather...

When are you leaving? It seems like if you don't give them a deadline to be out of your house......and then stick to it you're still going to be having houseguests when the snow starts next fall. There are times to be nice and times not to be and I think it's getting time to be not so nice anymore!

I didn't read all the posts so if this is redundant, sorry. I've just recently learned that an ozone machine will get rid of the worst odors in a house. Ya know, dog and cat urine, etc. You may need to rent one for like 3 days after they are finally out of there.

I told them today, that I was really looking forward to them being out of my space... I said 'we talked about a week or two, and it's been 18 days, and I don't want to be mean, but I really need to have my space back'... i think i hurt their feelings, but the guy is outside now with the saw in the rain/snow.. so i think they're listening...
