First time to take the birds this low of temperatures, right now it's 5°F or lower and they are playing in the pond! Extra hay really deep is the order, I think by having 47 birds in 265 square foot structure (16' x16') the heat they give off keeps them warm.I am so thankful to be here in the NC mountains even though we are going to hit 3 next week and single digits after it doesn't stick around long. Do you provide any type of heat when you get these temps?
We got married last Saturday, it was 40° above zero in the pole barn. The temperatures around here do the same except in a 24 hour period as if the temperatures seen a state patrol officer and slam the brakes. I know where Aggie land is, born in Beaumont, TXGlobal warming is hitting us next week too. 13 might not seem too bad to y'all but 5 months ago we were hitting 112.
Congratulations on your marriage!First time to take the birds this low of temperatures, right now it's 5°F or lower and they are playing in the pond! Extra hay really deep is the order, I think by having 47 birds in 265 square foot structure (16' x16') the heat they give off keeps them warm.

Thanks, we did it in the pole bindominium (pole barn with condo like living quarters upstairs built from grain bin sheets) I built with my own two hands, had a local older rancher perform the ceremony on our ranch, it was a wedding you only hear about in a country song.Congratulations on your marriage!
When you live in those temps you have to have blood as thick as oil.
We're originally from Florida and when we moved here we were freezing in the 40's.
Global warming?
If you could share pictures I would love to see what you talking about. Thanks, we did it in the pole bindominium (pole barn with condo like living quarters upstairs built from grain bin sheets) I built with my own two hands, had a local older rancher perform the ceremony on our ranch, it was a wedding you only hear about in a country song.
This is a dry cold, so at 40° we are in long sleeves and that's it, when growing up and it hit 40's in Texas we were freezing too.
The Waddle Wattle Inn is to the right of it. Click on my YouTube channel in my signature and you can see the loft upstairs as I built it and what came of it.If you could share pictures I would love to see what you talking about.
Born in Florida it was the same too, it could get in the 40s and pert-near freeze.
