Hello everyone!
I thought I’d share this with you all, since you are fellow chicken people
. Last year I thought it would be fun to keep track of my girls’ egg laying, so on their calendar in the coop (I have a thing for calendars so of course there’s one in the chicken coop!) I kept a tally of how many eggs they laid each day, categorized by color and size (the little one represents a bantam egg).
I’m sure I missed a few eggs here and there, but according to my calculation, my 17 girls (some didn’t start laying until September, and one’s an old lady who is very sporadic) laid 2,759 eggs from January 1st through December 31st. So 2020 wasn’t a complete loss after all
! Anyway, there is no scientific reason for this, it was just for fun and I’ve already got their new calendar and the new tally started for 2021
