TWO! For the first time, I got two eggs today!! They are both small..one is a lighter brown than the other, beautiful eggs....

I got 4 from 5 hens on Wednesday. My little Silkie only lays a max of 3 a week, but my buff orpington lays 6 out of 7 days, my EE lays 6 out of 7 days and my LBrahmas lay at least 4 or 5 out of 7 days a week. One of my LBrahmas lays a medium egg and the other one lays the most humungous eggs that are very heavy.

They are double yolkers and I hope she keeps on laying them. Every time I find one of those whoppers in the nest I jump up and down and giggle my head off - it's like finding a pot of gold - I keep going in the refrigerator to look at it because I thought all of my eggs were destined to be medium sized eggs. I have 14 hens that have not begun to lay, but they were hatched on July 1, so they have a while to go before they begin to lay.

1 out of 1 hardworking pullet. (She just started, and she's laid an egg every day for the last few days. Good girl!) The other 17 haven't started laying yet (at least, in the nestboxes...they could have found their own nests around the yard...
